Our budget consist of several post as follows:

Visa application fee

Visitor visa cost for Indonesian

A visitor visa is required for Indonesian nationality to enter New Zealand. The application can be made online through VFS Global. It takes 30 days for visa processing and maybe an additional week for delivery. The visitor visa for Indonesia nationally cost NZD 211. There are some additional costs required. The detail of visa application cost is on below table.

There are three destinations selected for this trip. The ticket fee for each destination will be listed as follow.

Transportation Fee

The cost of transportation could be vary, this is the real price when I made this assignment.

Flight

The flight from Padang to Jakarta for Lany will be on Friday, 9^th August 2019 on 16:40 West Indonesian Time. The return flight will be on Tuesday, 20 August 2019 on 07:30 West Indonesian Time. Lany will visit her with her sister in Jakarta for a couple of days before going back home to Padang. The total cost for both flights is about IDR 3,118,000. The booking receipt is as follow.

The flight from Jakarta to Auckland will be departing on Friday, 9th August 2019 at 20:10 and will be land in Auckland on Saturday, 10th August 2019 at 12:15 NZT. And the return flight will be on Sunday, 18th August 2019 at 08:30 NZT and will arrive in Indonesia on the same day at 18:40 West Indonesian Time. The total cost for both flights is about IDR 9,958,300. The receipt of the flight booking is as follow.

The flight is also chosen as transportation from Wellington to Queenstown and from Christchurch to Auckland. The cost of both flights is NZD 40 and NZD 52 per person respectively. Additional baggage are also purchased for both flights.

Car Rent

As there will be four people on the trip, a 5 seaters car is chosen for this trip. There are two different best car rental companies that we conduct our research before renting the car. After some calculation, we decide to go with Jucy rental for 3 days the trip from Auckland to Wellington from 10th August 2019 to 13th August 2019. The total cost is about NZD 137.7, which already include Stress-Free premium cover insurance about NZD 20 per day. On the other hand, on the same duration and destination, Go Rental offer a higher price with the same facilities with the total cost at about NZD 327 which also include zero risk insurance cover for about NZD 28 per day. We choose to go with Jucy.

We also use the same rental company for the 5-days trip from Queenstown to Christchurch from 13^th August 2019 to 17^th August 2019. We decide to go with Go Rental this time because it offers a better price. The total cost of Go rental is about NZD 360 with zero risk insurance for NZD 28 per day. Meanwhile, Jucy rental offers a much higher price on NZD 399.84 with stress-free premium cover insurance for NZD 20 per day.

Fuel Cost for Car

For the first three days in North Island from Auckland to Wellington, we will drive for about 794 km with the destination on the below map.

Based on the car (Mazda 3) specifications from the Jucy website, the car uses unleaded 91 Octane fuel. Based on its specification, it is estimated that the car will use about 6-liter fuel for 100 km. Thus, the total cost will be shown at the table below.

For the next 5 days trip in South Island from Queenstown to Christchurch, we will drive for about 598 km with the destination on the below map.

Based on the car (Mazda 2) specifications from the Mazda website, the car uses unleaded 91 Octane fuel. It is estimated that the car will use about 5.5-liter fuel for 100 km. Thus, the total cost will be shown at table below.

Supper Shuttle

Supper shuttle is hired as transportation from the homestay at Auckland CBD to the Auckland International Airport. The cost will be about NZD 20 per person or NZD 60 for three people (figure 4-15). Because the flight will depart at around 8:00, the pick-up time of the shuttle will be at 04:50 in the morning.

For accommodation, we will stay at 7 different homestays throughout the trip. All the homestays are booked through Air BnB. The consideration of choosing the homestay is about price, location, and facilities. The location and cost of each homestay are listed in the table below.

Eating out

We will be eating out several times throughout the trip. As we know from the trip preference survey, the chosen restaurant serve halal food (no pork), or it has seafood, chicken, and vegetarian menu. The total cost of eating out will be about 109 per person, which will be listed on the below table
